Indonesian Heritage Society proudly presents a charity fundraising screening of *“The Rainbow Troops”* with English Subtitles. The Rainbow Troops (Laskar Pelangi) is one of the most successful Indonesian films adapted from the break-through novel of the same title by Andrea Hirata, based on his own life experience.
The story of Laskar Pelangi takes place in Gantong Village on the farming and tin mining island of Belitung, off the east coast of Sumatra. Follow a group of 10 elementary schoolboys and their two inspirational teachers as they struggle against poverty and build hope for a brighter future.

Lontar Foundation is a non-profit organization which endeavors to promote Indonesia literature and culture through the translation of local literary works.
This is a great opportunity to watch a celebrated Indonesian movie and directly support the promotion of Indonesian culture, as all funds raised will go to the Lontar Foundation.

Tickets are available from 8th April at the Indonesian Heritage Society’s Library, Rp 250,000 each for adults and 50,000 under the age of 18.
Tickets include the film screening, post-film discussion with special guests, refreshments and one raffle ticket. Additional raffle tickets are Rp 50,000 for one, or Rp 100.000 for three. Mark your calendar!
