International literary festival Ubud Writers & Readers Festival 2010 took place in Ubud (Bali) from 3-7 October 2012. This event, organised for the 9th time in the town known as one of Indonesia’s cultural centres, has won international recognition as one of the most famous international literary forums.
Among the Russian participants there were poet Oleg Borushko, who also chairs the annual London Festival “Pushkin in Britain” for Russian-speaking poets, Natalia Reznik, the winner of the 10thJubilee Gala Tournament of the Russian Poets Abroad, and Alexandra Ignatenko, the winner of the 5th all-Ukraine Tournament of Poets “Pushkin in Odessa”.
The Russian poets held workshops in Russian poetry and prose and a master class on translation of Russian literature into English. Their participation raised big interest among the organizers of the event and its participants.
This year the Festival was attended by poets and writers from 20 countries of Europe, Asia, Africa and America and Australia. The number of people that took part in the festival and attended its events was over 20 thousand.
